Thirteen children in one CHO area of the Shannonside Northern Sound Region are waiting over a year and a half for mental health services.
CHO 1, which covers Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim is the only healthcare area locally to see children waiting over 18 months for supports.
The HSE says child and adolescent mental health services continued during the Covid-19 pandemic.
But during the height of the crisis, 90 per cent of consultations were through phone and video call.
New figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, reveal there are still 2,315 kids waiting to be seen.
CHO 1 has 358 children on the waiting list, accounting for 15.5% for the national total, with 106 of those waiting 3-6 months.
This is also the only area in the region to have any children waiting over 18 months for services.
CHO 2 includes Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon, and has the lowest figures locally with 55 children waiting 6 months or less for CAMHS services.
Longford falls into CHO 8 along with Laois/Offaly, Louth, Meath, and Westmeath with data showing 394 on the waiting list.
The longest wait time recorded in this area is for 10 children waiting 10-15 months, while 157 are on the list for 3 months or less.
