A Meath senator who hails from Cavan has branded the treatment of the Ceann Comhairle this week as "disgusting".
There were chaotic scenes in the Dáil this week as the Government voted to introduce new speaking time rules. It allows for more speaking time for Regional Independent TDs led by Michael Lowry. Sharon Keogan is an Independent Senator originally from Cavan.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, she believes there was an element of sexism involved in how Ceann Comhairle, Verona Murphy was treated.
