As Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss brought forward a Bill to allow the British Government to dismantle parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

Liz Truss has become the new British Prime Minister - after being invited by the Queen to form a government.

She had to travel to Balmoral to meet the monarch, shortly after Boris Johnson also made the trip to officially resign.

Liz Truss is now heading back to Downing Street - she's expected to make a speech this afternoon, and begin appointing cabinet ministers.

Border Communities Against Brexit is expecting the new British Prime Minister to re-enter Brexit negotiations.

As Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss brought forward a Bill to allow the British Government to dismantle parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

However, Damian McGenity from the cross-border activist group says there may be a softening of opinion now that she is in charge of the country.
