Two men have been arrested following a drugs seizure worth €20,000 in Co Cavan.
As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of drugs and related criminal activity in the region, Gardaí attached to the Cavan Drugs Unit and Bailieboro Detective Unit stopped a vehicle in Virginia yesterday.
The car was searched and 1kg of suspected cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of €20,000, was seized.
Two men (aged in their 50s and 20s) were arrested and are being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
