Vehicle in Cavan un-taxed for almost six years

Gardaí on patrol on bank holiday Monday stopped a vehicle which, it later transpired, had not been taxed for almost six years.

An Garda Siochána's mobility device could tell members of the regular unit in Cavan that the tax on the vehicle in question had expired 1,722 days previously.

A fixed payment notice will now be issued to the owner of the vehicle. The vehicle has been detained by gardaí.
