Gardaí are warning that fraudulent emails, purporting to be from a Priest in Monaghan, are being sent to people in the area.
The emails are requesting donations to assist a parishioner who is undergoing cancer treatment.
Gardaí say donations are being sought through a link in the email but they are warning people the emails are not legitimate.

They've urged anyone who receives the email not to click on the link and not to make any donation.
Anyone who has fallen victim to the scam is asked to contact their local Garda station.
