Met Eireann has issued fresh weather warnings, with last night's plummeting temperatures resulting in 'treacherous' conditions in parts of the country.
A status yellow low temperature and ice warning for Munster and Leinster will extend to Monaghan, Cavan, Galway, and Roscommon and came into effect at 11am.
This will remain in place until 9am tomorrow, and Met Eireann is warning of sharp frost and icy stretches as well as black ice.
While the yellow snow-ice advisory in place for Cavan, Donegal, Louth, Monaghan and Connacht will expired, replaced by a snow-ice warning for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
A similar alert has been issued by the UK Met Office for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.
