The fly-on-the-wall documentary about Monaghan teenager Daire Gorman has won a national award. "What Daire Did Next" was filmed over 6 months and showed how Daire, who has Crommelin Syndrome navigate life in a wheelchair as he transferred to secondary school, attended hospital appointments and trained for a soccer tournament.
The Tonniscoffey schoolboy said he wanted to take part in the documentary to inspire other children who face disability or any other life challenges. The programme was nominated for this year's Royal Television Society Republic of Ireland Awards and won the top prize in the Animation and Children's Programming category.
