Gardaí continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding a vehicle that was stopped travelling on the N2 south of Carrickmacross on Wednesday 22nd July 2026.
The female (aged in her 20s) who was arrested has since been charged in relation to this investigation.
The female is due to appear before a Special Sitting of Trim District Court this evening, Friday 24th July 2026 at 7:00pm.

The male (aged in his 40s) arrested in connection with the investigation, remains detained pursuant to Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 (as amended), at a Garda station in the Dublin region.
