A cultural showcase will take place this Saturday in Monaghan that will celebrate diversity, share culture and build community.
The showcase is a joint initiative by Monaghan Rotary Club and Monaghan Lions Club.
The event will take place tomorrow from 12pm until 4pm at St Patrick's Church Hall.
Joe Martin of Monaghan's rotary club said together, we can create a better world through service, friendship and understanding.
According to Joe, one of the major aims of the event is to build awareness of the rich cultural diversity that exits within the community of Monaghan.
The showcase will feature people from Lithuania, Ireland, Uganda, Ukraine, Thailand, Vietnam, Latvia and Nigeria.
Robert Wilson of the Monaghan Lions Club hopes tomorrow's event will help the community of Monaghan Town integrate.
He revealed that 12% of the population of Monaghan Town is from outside of Ireland number is increasing.
Robert said it's important to reach out to those communities and help bring everyone together in a welcoming and encouraging way.
