Young people need help recognising unhealthy relationships, says Youth Work Ireland

Caolan Faux said people need help to recognise what it is in a relationship that makes it healthy.

Young people in the region need support to recognise unhealthy relationships.

This is the message from the Director of Youth Work Ireland for Cavan and Monaghan Caolan Faux, who says that many young people in their services say they don't know what a healthy relationship is.

He says that the first step should be acknowledging what is healthy and look at the positive relationships in their lives from friendships to family relationships to more intimate ones.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound he said there needs to be more work done with young people to help them establish what they need to feel valued and move forward with their relationships:
