Addiction and recovery from the point of view of a service coordinator, support worker and service user is the topic of the latest podcast in the Stories of Recovery podcast series.
The series focuses on local stories of hope and recovery in Cavan and Monaghan and have been running monthly since September.
Stories of Recovery Podcast Series is a collaboration between Mental Health Ireland and HSE Cavan Monaghan Mental Health Service as part of the Connecting for Life Cavan Monaghan Strategy to reduce suicide in our communities.
The series is running over seven months, airing an episode each month addressing different aspects of recovery from adversity and mental health challenges.
The podcast is hosted by Miffy Hoad, Development Officer with Mental Health Ireland for the Cavan Monaghan area. This episode of Stories of Recovery Podcast is about Addiction and Recovery. The conversation takes place in Cavan Monaghan Drug & Alcohol Service with Zoe Wells the service coordinator there, Dermot who is a support worker and who came through the service on his own journey out of addiction and Eileen, a family member whose son is in recovery. All three contributors offer their own unique and valuable insight into their perspectives on addiction, mental health and recovery.
