Ballyjamesduff cancer survivor shares mission to inspire others. A Co Cavan woman featured on last week's episode of First Dates Ireland. Katie Lynch, from Ballyjamesduff, is the ultimate First Dates fan. Indeed, she was 18 when she initially applied for the English version of the show. Fast forward four years later. Katie told Northern Sound she was more than happy to grasp the opportunity with both hands when producers contacted her to appear on the Irish version of the popular dating show.
Katie was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer four years ago. Moreover, she wanted to use this opportunity as a platform to spread awareness to young women who are going through the same thing. Furthermore, to let them know that it's "ok to open up and talk". To know that they too can come out the other side of this experience with the upmost confidence.
