Cavan GAA in collaboration with the North East Sepsis Awareness group have created a video to highlight the importance of recognising symptoms of sepsis,
Local GAA stars featured in the sepsis awareness campaign video.
Cathriona Flanagan and Hannah Tormey also presented information at this week's Cavan Council meeting and emphasised that sepsis does not discriminate and can affect anyone of any age.
The video encourages people to know the symptoms; Slurred speech, new confusion drowsiness, extreme shivering, muscle aches, fever, not passing urine in 12 hours, shortness of breath, blue lips, heart racing, dizziness, feeling like you're going to die and skin mottled/ discoloured and a rash not blanching.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Hannah outlined that support is desperately needed in terms of post sepsis care and said it was something that the two ladies would be highlighting with the health minister when they meet her next week.
Hannah joined Ronan Gargan alongside Jason McLoughlin from Shannon Gaels who featured in the video campaign and Mark Gilsenan, communications officer for Cavan GAA.
