There are calls for a Irish language officer to be appointed for County Cavan.

Cllr Aine Smith who is also an Irish teacher has called for the appointment to take place.

She says its needed to allow for the safe guarding of the language. Ronan Gargan has been speaking to the local councillor about her calls.
