A Co Monaghan councillor has welcomed a funding allocation that will see the former Leonard Arms Hotel transformed into a tourist attraction. According to Cllr Seamus Coyle, a funding allocation of 15 million 750 thousand euro has been approached by government for projects in Co Monaghan. Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Coyle said he was particularly delighted for the people of Clones and the wider Ballybay/Clones MD area. The former Leonard Arms Hotel will receive a funding injection of over 4.9 million euro, add will bring with it another new business hub on the derelict site on Fermanagh Street.
