Monaghan was the only county in the country to see house prices fall in the first three months of 2023. That's according to a new report that has been published by a survey carried out by Real Estate Alliance.

The average price of a second-hand, three-bed semi in Co Monaghan fell by 2.4% at a cost of €200,000 while in Cavan, the three bed-semi home values in the county remained at €168,500 during the first three months of 2023 with no change over quarter one of the year.

Dermot Conlon from REA Gunne Property, Carrickmacross spoke to the Wider View this week about the developments. He began by explaining that the market is cooling off after hitting a peak in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
