The lack of funding for addiction services for young people has been raised by a local councillor.
Cllr Damien Brady raised a motion on the issue at the most recent sitting of Cavan County Council.
The local councillor said it was very worrying that so many young people are hooked on drugs, in what he believes is in an effort to fit it with their peers. He said that unfortunately it's come to the situation that you can buy drugs in towns and villages as easy as you buy cigarettes.
The calls made by Cllr Damien Brady got widespread support and will now see a letter being sent to HSE calling on them to offer more supports for the county going forward.
The local representative has been speaking to Ronan Gargan about his calls for funding.
