Quintuplet lambs have been born on a Cavan farm beating the odds of around one in a million.
The O'Brien's who own and run a sheep and beef farm on the outskirts of Cavan town welcomed quintuplet lambs from one ewe last Friday night.
While rare, this event occasionally occurs naturally in sheep, with survival rates for all five lambs being even lower, often described as a "one-in-a-million" occurrence
Lambing began on the busy farm last week.
All five lambs are said to be healthy and doing well and are being assisted with feeding.
Ewes can generally feed up to two lambs themselves and the rest are being bottle fed
Breifne O'Brien says the lambs are not only surviving but are "thriving."
He been speaking with Ronan Gargan.
