Cllr Niamh McCooey has warned of the increasing dangers posed by unregulated online platforms.
Moreover, she says that while smartphones are part of everyday life; the real issues lies in the unrestricted access children have to harmful online environments.
She is calling on Minister Patrick O'Donovan to address the risks posed to young people in the digital space "immediately."
