Furthermore, Cllr Smith says students need to know that schools are a safe space and not to worry about what is being said on social media.
The Fianna Fail councillor says while there is so many benefits to using the internet, children shouldn't have access to social media.
She says it's an issue that she will continue to highlight in an effort to keep our children safer when it comes to accessing the internet. Cllr Smith joined Ronan Gargan on the show this afternoon.
