Representatives of EU member states have voted in favour of adopting the EU-Mercosur Trade Agreement in a key vote today.
However, Ireland was one of the countries that voted against the agreement.
Moreover, Independent Ireland Cllr. O'Reilly highlighted that MEP's still have to vote on the agreement in the EU Parliament later this month.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he said that Ireland has a massive say in the agreement.
He believes the agreement will have implications for Irish consumers and he is encouraging farmers to attend a protest which is being held by Independent Ireland at the TUS Athlone campus tomorrow.
