Listen Back: Monaghan SOSAD 'stepped up when it was needed'

Monaghan SOSAD stepped up when it was needed. Cllr Pauric Clerkin has called on Monaghan County Council to write to Minister for Mental Health Mary Butler and the HSE. Indeed, the letter is  in relation to providing vital funding that will allow SOSAD Ireland to retain its messaging service. SOSAD operates across the North East; including Cavan and Monaghan. Moreover, SOSAD announced on Sunday that it would cease its messaging service from today.

The shocking announcement prompted Cllr Clerkin to put forward a motion at yesterday's siting of Monaghan County Council. Jodie Curran spoke with Cllr Clerkin who is also calling on Minister Butler and the HSE to provide further funding for SOSAD. This funding will help vital mental health services to people where needed; not just across Co Monaghan but the North-East region:
