Optimism turned to disappointment for the County Monaghan parents with children with special needs who travelled up to Dublin. The parents were heading to a high-profile meeting with An Tánaiste Micheál Martin regarding services for the county.
In the first place, the Tánaiste was not at the meeting. However, parents did get to meet with the Minister for Education, Norma Foley. The parents told her directly why Monaghan needs its own special needs school, respite and day centres.
