A photography competiton is currently unnder way to celebrate world wetlands day that takes place on the 2nd of Feburay,
The competion theme is Monaghans Wonderful wetlands and the competetion is encouraging people of all ages to get out in your local commuinty and caputure your local wetlands.
Wetlands can be a lake, river, a bog, marsh grounds, a steam or a pond. Monaghan Biodiversity officer Patricia McCreesh has been telling Ronan Gargan all about this wonderful initiative.

You can email your photos to [email protected] with the closing date of Wednesday January 31st. The winners will be announced on the Wider View here on Northern Sound on Feburay 2nd to coincide with World Wetlands Day.
