Older People’s Council to hold AGM in Blayney tomorrow. The older people’s council in Co Monaghan are holding it's AGM tomorrow; from 10am to 3pm, in the Iontas Theatre, Castleblayney.
The event is an opportunity to catch up on what's been happening this year; share your ideas about local issues; have your say in shaping what comes next; and learn about the services available in Co Monaghan.
Speakers on the day will give out extremely important information. Indeed, such as making a will and the various services that are available to older people and much more.
In addition to this, stands will be on site on the day. Moreover, the providers will include the Alzheimer's society; meals on wheels; citizens information Cavan-Monaghan; Monaghan Fire Service; Monaghan Library Service; health age friendly homes co-ordinated, WCI Monaghan, HSE public health burse, Specsavers, Monaghan Sports Partnership, the Gardai's crime prevention officer and the volunteer centre.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Seamus McDermott who is the age friendly ambassador said it's important for older people to know they have a voice a real voice through the older people's council.
He says for anyone out there who wants to get their voice heard, there's no better way than getting involved in the older people's council.
