Wellman International, “it’s by far a done deal”- Cllr O’Reilly. Over 50 job losses announced at recycling company Wellman International in Mullagh.

There was fears that as many as 215 jobs could have been lost at the Cavan facility.

The operation went into examinership back in early June.

The jobs losses will be voluntary and involuntary. Moreover, Cllr Shane P O’Reilly has described the losses as a dark day for the people affected; and their families.

Cllr O’Reilly has been speaking to Ronan Gargan in Mullagh where he says while the loss of 54 jobs is a huge blow for the wider North Meath and East Cavan area; he says there are positives but there is a process to be followed and it’s by far a done deal.
