The PSNI is appealing for information following the burglary of a filling station just outside Tyholland, Monaghan.

Foyduff Filling Station - just yards from the border on the Monaghan Road in Middletown - was broken into sometime between 10 pm on Sunday and 8 am yesterday.

It's believed the burglars entered the premises via the roof and a sum of cash was stolen.

A PSNI spokesperson has issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact them, quoting the police incident number 540 on August 10th.
