The Breffni side followed up on their win over Armagh with a victory over Roscommon

Cavan 4-12 Roscommon 0-07

Cavan Camogs make it two out of two on their League campaign. They played Roscommon in a round two reverse fixture in Athleague in idyllic conditions. Roscommon opened the scoring with a point from play in the first two minutes with Clodagh Keenaghan getting her name on the board in the third minute with a point from play. The Cavan back line were kept under pressure to keep Roscommon from the goal as they scored points from frees in the fourth and ninth minute of the game. The Ballinagh Joint Captain Joey Maguire chipped away at the score board as she slotted over a point in the twelfth minute from play. Roscommon proceeded to score three more points in the first half but Cavan continued to push through with points coming from Megan Shield’s and Carmel Fay through play.Laragh’s Clodagh Keenaghan putting one over from a free just leaving a point between the teams at the Break, Cavan 0-05 to Roscommon’s 0-06.

Half time Substitute Niamh Keenaghan who got the winning score in last week’s fixture against Armagh added to the score with 3 points from play coming in the third, fourth and sixth Minute with her sister Clodagh Keenaghan adding another point to the board in the thirteenth  minute of the second half. The Roscommon Backline were feeling the pressure as Denn’s Shanise Fitzsimons fired two goals in the back of the net in the 17th and18th minute. She wasn’t going to go easy on them as she then added a 3rd goal in the 26th minute from play, in-between she also added a point from play. Roscommon tried to come back with a point from play. Clodagh Keenaghan added to the scoreboard again in the 23rd minute from play. Fitzsimons slotted over another at the 29th minute leaving her with a tally of 3goals and 2points for her days work.

Lacken’s Aoife Crowe who came on as a substitute added her name to the scoreboard in the final minutes of the game hitting the back of the net.

Full time score Cavan 4-12 Roscommon 0-07. Cavan play Antrim on Saturday 12th at 2pm Venue TBC and the minor’s play Wicklow on Sunday 13th in the Tesco All Ireland Minor ‘C’ Semi Final.
