The "Silencer" was due to take part in a big money tournament which has now been postponed

Aaron McKenna's plans to travel to Japan to take part in a 1 million dollar tournament have been scuppered after the tournament was postponed. The "Silencer" had been due to face face American-Puerto Rican Jeovanny Estela in a quarter-final in the event co-hosted by Matchroom Boxing. However in a statement late on Sunday evening, Matchroom confirmed speculation that the tournament will not begin next week. It read:

Matchroom can confirm due to operational reasons outside of our control the Prize Fighter quarter-finals are postponed. Further details will follow in due course.

No specific reason was given or guarantee the tournament will be rescheduled. The tournament was seen to be an opportunity for the Monaghan boxer to climb up the world rankings and secure a fight for a possible world title as opponents are currently avoiding the knock out specialist who has 18 wins and no losses to his name since turning professional.
