Ireland’s Alex Dunne has moved up to fourth in this season’s FIA Formula 2 World Championship after a successful weekend of racing in Monaco. The Rodin Motorsport driver is now on 48 points, and has placed himself in fourth place in this season’s championship after finishing ninth in Saturday’s sprint race and second in Sunday’s feature race. He finds himself level on points with his fellow teammate at Rodin, Martinius Stenshorne, and the Offaly man is 15 points behind championship leader Gabriele Mini, who failed to score points in yesterday’s feature race.Dunne was unfazed by the “boring” nature of yesterday’s race, saying that
I think in the future, if we can have more boring races, that would be a good thing. Just to stay out of trouble. I think just keep our nose clean and just pick up the points is all I'm trying to do.
Dunne is looking to build on a promising rookie campaign for his team; he finished fifth in last season’s championship on 150 points, winning two races, and he’ll want to make further inroads into challenging for the title this season, when the championship’s attention moves to Barcelona this weekend.
