All Systems go for Midland Motor club stages rally

Crews are set to face 9 stages in and around the Longford Town area

The opening round of the Triton Showers National Rally championship and the Squealing Pig Border championship will be hosted by the Midland Motor club this Sunday with the Jermey O’Connor stages rally. A top quality entry list has been received by the club with the current WRC crew of Josh McErlean and Eoin Treacy the number 1 seeds in a Ford Fiesta with the defending national champion Josh Moffett and his navigator Keith Moriarty at number 2 in their Citroen with Matt Edwards and David Moynihan completing the top 3 in their Hyundai I20. Having been an-opt out round last year and the first round of a number of championships, a large crowd is expected to descend on Longford town and its environs over the weekend. Sean Mc Caffrey spoke to the media officer Barry Molloy and began by noting that a busy time is ahead for all involved
