Round 3 will confirm the group winners and runners up

The Tailteann cup makes a return this weekend with round three.

In Group 1 Cavan and Offaly face each other in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The winner set to top the table and claim a home quarter-final spot.

Laois and London are the other pairing in that group, they meet in Parnell Park where a draw for the Midlanders would be enough to secure a knock-out spot.

On Sunday, in group 2 Longford take on Carlow where again a win for either will move them into the knock-out stages. Meath and Down, are both on four points also meet. The winner will top the group and take a home quarter-final.

Leitrim have some work to do in group four as they currently sit with no points following losses to Antrim and Fermanagh. However a victory over Wexford who drew with the Ernersiders could give them a chance to claim one of the three, third place spots. As New York will enter the competition at the preliminary quarter-final stage.
