Recent Liverpool ladies signing Leanne Kiernan helped launch the fundraiser for the Cavan club

Cavan club, Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA are giving one person the chance to win an apartment worth in excess of €250,000 in Dublin City Centre for just €100 per ticket as Leanne Kiernan officially launched their ‘Win a Dublin City Apartment’ fundraiser. In June, Leanne Kiernan signed for Liverpool FC Women after spending three years at West Ham Ladies. The Irish International star who rose to prominence during her years at Shelbourne FC, including a hattrick in the Womens FAI Cup in 2016, and who has since played in a Women’s FA Cup in Wembley returned to her home GAA club to launch an ambitious fundraiser for the east Cavan club.

Speaking at the launch, the twenty time International Capped Kiernan said,

I am delighted to be able to launch my home club’s fundraiser where someone could win an outstanding apartment in Dublin City Centre. Huge testament has to go to the volunteers in the club who have made this happen, and who will put in all the work to make this entire campaign a success. Speaking to friends who have been renting in Dublin over the last number of years, they find it impossible to rent, while also saving for a deposit for a property on the outskirts of the city, never mind for an apartment in Dublin 1. I have seen the apartment and it is of the highest quality

The first prize on offer is a fourth floor, one bedroom, 41 sqm apartment located in Jervis Place in the heart of Dublin City, which has been fully refurbished. The apartment is based in one of Dublin’s most sought after city centre locations, with access to local amenities, transport links and services such as the Jervis Street Luas stop, and shopping districts, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, and third level education institutes all within short walking distances.

Bailieborugh Shamrocks GAA Chairman, Gavin Mackey said;

The opportunity to live in Dublin City Centre without the worry of rent or a mortgage is idealistic for many individuals, however we are going to make that a reality for someone, and we firmly believe this fundraiser will be of great interest to individuals up and down the country and indeed abroad, and also to students and parents of students attending any university or college in the capital. But this is much more than a fundraiser, this is an opportunity for someone to receive the keys to an incredible property only a short walk from Grafton Street, while at the same time helping our club realise huge plans in a time that has been so difficult for GAA communities to fundraise.
