Scotstown the defending champions could end up in the relegation group

This weekend will see the senior club championship in Monaghan complete the group fixtures will it all to play for as two teams look to claim the automatic semi final spots, 4 other sides are vying for the quarter final places up for grabs while the remaining four will be dropping into the relegation battle. All eyes will be on St Marys park Scotstown on Sunday at 5pm as the defending champions take on Clontibret where a win for either side will guarantee an automatic last 4 placing but a loss could see a drop to the relegation group. With both sides having surprisingly been beaten in their opening games, Sean Mc Caffrey noted to our regular GAA correspondent Fergal Monaghan that the drama of that opening round had now given rise to a exciting conclusion to the group stages
