Monaghan footballer Bobby McCaul is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. The Aughnamullen clubman ruptured his cruciate ligament in last weekend's loss to Mayo in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Manager Gabriel Bannigan says the youngster has been a "special weapon" for them this year, and he's "gutted" to be without him for the rest of the campaign.
Bobby had only returned back to football this year after suffering a similiar injury while playing for the U20's in 2025. He had been increasing his game time since making an appearance against Derry in the Ulster semi final and had registered 1-01 when introduced at half time on Sunday past when he picked up the injury while moving to pick up on a loose ball.
