There is club action both locally and on the provincial front.

The provincial club championship begins in earnest this weekend with plenty of action to look forward too. On Saturday in the Ulster junior championship Monaghan champions Sean Mc Dermotts will be in round 1 action when they welcome Fr Rocks of Cookstown to Clones at 1:30pm. The Tyrone representatives will be formidable opposition as they claimed Ulster and All ireland intermediate titles in 2009 and 2012. The Senior championship in Ulster will see the preliminary round meeting of St Eunans of Letterkenny and the Derry champions Glen on Sunday at 1:30pm with the winners set to meet Scotstown in the quarter final. Locally in Monaghan the senior league football final between Scotstown and Clontibret will throw in on Friday night in Castleblayney at 8:15pm with the Junior final between Toome and Clones on Sunday at the Monaghan Harps club ground at 2pm. The intermediate league semi finals will throw in Sunday at 2pm with Killany taking on Doohamlet while the championship winners Donaghamoyne take on Emyvale.

In Cavan this Sunday in hurling the league semi finals will see Cootehill taking on East Cavan Gaels and Mullahoran up against Pearse Ogs. Both of those encounters at 2pm.
