The first of 4 Northern Sound Derbies scheduled for this week throws in this evening (Wednesday) in Kingspan Breffni as Cavan host Monaghan in the Quarter final of the Ulster u20 championship. Both sides had mixed results during the group stages with the hosts producing one of the results of the competition when they defeated the defending All Ireland champions Tyrone in the opening round before falling to a heavy loss to Armagh and drew with Down to secure 2nd place in the group.
Farney boss Paul O'Connnor noted that those defeats were disappointing but they learned from them
The one victory that Cavan claimed came at their town venue and manager Chris Conroy admitted that been at home does have its advantages
We will have live coverage of that fixture this evening from 7:30.
The other quarter final will see Derry taking on Tyrone in Celtic Park with Donegal and Armagh waiting in the semi finals
