Donegal proved too strong for Cavan as they claimed the Lidl league division two crown.
Cavan started on the front foot in Clones this afternoon; racing into a four point lead through Ella Sheridan kicking three of their opening scores.
Donegal struck back with two points before the break. Both came from the boot of Katie Dowds.
Cavan held a two point advantage at half time, 0-4 to 0-2.
Ella Sheridan again got landed the opening score of the half following the half-time break. However, Donegal found another gear then as they hit 1-7 without reply.
Points from Suzy White, Ciara McGarvey, Catherine Dolan and Katie Dowds topped off with a Mia Bennett goal on 42 minutes put Donegal into a four point lead.
Donegal leading by four after 49 minutes, 1-7 to six points.
Ella Sheridan kicked the final two scores for Cavan but a Katie Dowds goal, five minutes from time, put the result beyond any doubt.
Donegal ran out five point winners, 2-7 to 0-8.
