Cavan camogie team reach semi-finals despite losing to Clare

The Cavan camogie team suffered their first defeat of the Glen Dimplex Premier Junior Camogie Championship after losing 0-8 to 0-7 to Clare at Kingspan Breffni.

Cavan led 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time; Clodagh Keenaghan (three), Aideen Coyle, Shanise Fitzsimons were on target for the Breffni women.

Cavan moved two points clear 11 minutes from time when Keenaghan slotted over a free before Clare’s Grace Carmody restored parity six minutes later.

The visitors prevailed by the smallest of margins after Fiona O’Brien registered the winning point in injury time.

Cavan still advance to play Armagh in the All-Ireland semi-finals on Saturday 23rd July.
