Cavan rounded out their Allianz hurling league campaign with victory over Monaghan.
Four points separated the sides at full time in this afternoons contest in Kingspan Breffni Park.
Niall Garland and Ethan Flynn opened the scoring for Monaghan with a point each inside the opening two minutes.
Rian Delaney and Thomas Leonord were quick to reply for Cavan with the sides drawing level on six minutes.
Mark Moffett found the back of the Monaghan net after 19 minutes. Cavan moved into a six point lead after 19 minutes.
The sides traded scores before the break but it was Cavan who took an eight point lead to the break. At half-time Cavan led 1-12 to 0-7.
Niall Arthur was producing an impressive individual performance scoring six of Monaghan’s seven points in the second-half. It wasn’t enough as points from Jack McGuinness, Mark Moffett and Rian Gillen kept the Monaghan at bay.
Sean Keating and Thomas Leonard also chipped in with second half points as Cavan held on for a final round win.
Cavan running out four point winners, 1-16 to 15 points.
