McEvoy Cavan Eagles Super league debut saw defat to Trinity Meteors on Saturday.
Trinity Meteors under the stewardship of new head coach Seamas Donnelly began with a 65-61 home win.
Hazel Finn, last season’s MVP in the National Cup final top scored with 15 points. Whereas, new American Ava Learn had a strong all-round performance, picking up 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Indeed, Americans Soleil Barnes and Mazatlan Harris had 15 and 12 points respectively for McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles. Whereas, Alex Mulligan chipped in with 13 for John Stephens’ side.
Meanwhile, Carrick Cruisers scored a 79-71 success at Templeogue in a compelling contest which saw nine lead changes.
A strong fourth quarter led by James Aboaba, who scored eight of his ten game points, saw Carrick Cruisers take the victory.
Keon Edwards top scored with 25 points for the victors, while Evan Cook was Templeogue’s posted their top tally of 16.
