The 2017 champions are into the quarter finals after a slow start

While there is one game outstanding the Cavan senior football championship the quarter final and relegation placings have been decided. Kingscourt Stars, Crosserlough, Ramor United, Killygarry, Gowna, Laragh United, Cavan Gaels and Ballinagh have all qualified for the quarter finals. Lacken. Castlerahan, Mullahoran and Lavey will compete in the relegation battle. The re-scheduled meeting of Crosserlough and Castlerahan will decide the final knockout pairings. Cavan Gaels last tasted senior success in 2017 and after a slow start in this years championship have reached the last 8 following a final group win over Lacken. Manager Jason O'Reilly remarked that are finding their form with a number of players returning from injuries.
