It will be a first National final for a hurling team from the Breffni county

Cavan hurlers historic outing to Croke Park for the Lory Meagher cup final will take place this Saturday evening (31st) at 6:30 when they face Fermanagh in the decider. The encounter will be a repeat of an early group game which seen the Breffni side prevail before they accounted for Louth in the semi final. For Fermanagh following that loss to Cavan they registered wins over Monaghan and Longford. The sides have met regularly over the past number of years and Breffni manager Ollie Bellew remarked the final will be treated like any other game

That fixture will be part of a triple header in Croke Park with the Nicky Rackard cup between Tyrone and Mayo throwing in at 1:30 followed by the meeting of Monaghan and Tyrone in the Ulster senior final at 4pm.
