Cavan were 11 points clear before a late surge saw Fermanagh salvage a draw.

The Cavan hurlers had to settle for a draw with Fermanagh as their Lory Meagher cup clash ended 3-18 to 5-12 at Brewster Park.

Fermanagh’s Caolan Duffy opened the scoring with a goal inside 60 seconds. Eight minutes later Sean Keating replied with one for the visitors pushing them two points clear.

Fermanagh’s Danann McKeogh found the net on 15 minutes before Nicholas Kenny brought Cavan level ten minutes later.

The visitors finished the half strongly. Four unanswered points saw the Breffni men lead 1-12 to 2-5 at the break.

Mark Moffett’s goal 12 minutes into the second half pushed Cavan 11 points clear. Fermanagh’s Ryan Bogue replied five minutes later making it an eight-point game.

Fermanagh dominated the final quarter and completed a great comeback. Two late goals helped the hosts salvage a draw.
