Billy O'Loughlin has been appointed as manager of the Longford senior football team following his ratification by the county board last night and suceeds Paraic Davis who stepped down in July. Laois native was manager of Sarsfields in Kildare in 2020 and Laois Under-20's who he guided to the 2019 Leinster final. The former Arles-Killeen and St Loman's player was selector and coach on the DIT Sigerson Cup-winning side of 2013. His backroom team has a strong Cavan connection with former players Michael Hannon and World Handballer Paul Brady as coaches. Daniel Doherty from Tyrone who will also work with the U20's is the strength and condition coach, Aidan Kilcoyne of Mayo is goalkeeping coach with Paul Mc Kittrick of Dublin on analysis and Ian Mulligan on stats. 2 further selectors are to be confirmed in the coming days with one of those set to be in charge of the U20 team.
