Cavan produced a dominant performance in round two victory over Wicklow in the all-Ireland ladies Intermediate championship in Kingspan Breffni.
Cavan started the game brightly; kicking over the first five scores of the game. Kerri McCormack, Sinead Greene, Aisling Gilsenan and Catherine Dolan all amongst the scorers.
Wicklow tapped over two points of their own but it didn’t faze that Cavan ladies. Another five scores before the interval came through points from Gilsenan, Niamh Keenaghan and Aisling Sheridan.
With an eight point lead at half-time, The breffni side had the foundation to flourish in the game. Aisling Gilsenan picking up where she left off in the first period, recording the four scores of the second half.
Niamh Tolan also got in on the act for the Breffni County, before a goal 27 minutes into the second half from Rebecca McLoughlin opened up a 16 point gap between the sides.
Shauna Byrne got what was Wicklow’s fourth and final point of the day while the breffni continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
With a 19 point deficit at full-time, it was a huge victory for the Cavan Ladies. Cavan scoring a 1-20 to four point win.
