The Breffni side have a slim chance of making the knockout stages

The final round of games in the Bank of Ireland Dr. McKenna cup throw’s in this evening with both Cavan and Monaghan looking to reach the semi-final stage.

Cavan make the trip to Paric Esler in Newry to face Down in Group B. While Derry have already claimed a last four spot with two wins from two outings.

A runner-up spot maybe a possibility for either side depending on how results go elsewhere.

The Breffni side lost out to Derry a week ago in round one. A game that was former goalkeeper Raymond Galligans first outing as manager.

With the role of number one having evolved in recent years; Galligan noted that the teams are now as expected adapting to dealing with this.
