Ciara Mc Anespie calls it a day

The Emyvale club player has been one of Monaghan's most successful players.

Monaghan ladies will be planning without the services of Ciara Mc Anespie who announced her retirement from the intercounty  scene last night. The Emyvale club player made her county debut in 2005 and amassed 6 Ulster senior titles as well as a Division 1 league title during her career and was also the recipent of 3 All star awards in 2009, 2011 and 2016.  The Mc Anespie name is synonymous with football in Monaghan with Ciara's mam Brenda having lined out for her native county, while her twin sister Aoife has played alongside her as well as her younger sisters Eimear and Aisling. Their brother Ryan is a minor, U21 and senior winner with the mens team.
