On the senior intercounty front, the attention this weekend from a local perspective will be on the Tailteann cup as Cavan and Westmeath prepare to meet to meet in the first ever final of the competition. The fixture is the curtain raiser to the All Ireland semi final meeting of Galway and Derry in Croke Park and throws in at 3pm. Some questions have been asked on the need for the final to take place at GAA headquarters however speaking on Sports beat on Monday night regular GAA commentator Damien Donohoe believes there should be no more debate about the venue for the final
